Stay Safe Working with Horses
Accessibility for educational games is a work in progress across the industry. We continually seek solutions to make our products fully accessible, and we strive to adhere to established standards for accessibility and usability on each new project. Some of our older products may not be accessible in all areas and have not been optimized for current accessibility recommendations. Here, we offer the content and approach of this game, so that learners are better able to find alternative content and ways of learning.
Content of the Application
Stay Safe Working with Horses is a browser-based interactive application designed to promote safety awareness when handling horses. This application takes a hands-on approach to horse handling safety as it offers various safety tips throughout its three segments. Taking the form of a point-and-click adventure, the player must complete each segment by selecting the numerically coordinated text boxes that reveal safety tips for the proper handling of horses. After the completion of each segment, the interactive runs a full-motion animation that reviews the lesson. Towards the end of the interactive, the player learns about the temperament of horses as well as safety tips upon releasing their horse from the stable.
